An engineer by background, Fahri Ulucay transitioned into soil microscopy out of a fascination with the Soil Food Web. He enjoys bridging the gap between systems thinking and soil microbiology to understand the living networks within soil and compost, and how they relate to plant health and the nutritional density of food. Passionate about making soil science approachable and down-to-earth, Fahri looks forward to collaborating with UK allotment owners, market gardens, and community projects, helping local growers look beneath the surface to better understand their soil’s natural biology.
