Isadora Shmidt

SFW Consultant & Mentor

Isadora Shmidt has always felt somewhat a misfit, wandering through life until nature finally drew her in. Her first career didn’t fulfill her, but everything changed when she stumbled upon market gardening. Learning to grow vegetables was enjoyable, but then permaculture found her—and she discovered that people had already written books about what she’d been imagining! The challenge, however, was that she didn’t own land, and permaculture felt like a personal escape from modern life rather than a practical pursuit.

Determined to make a real impact, she dove into regenerative agriculture, where she uncovered something even more transformative: the Soil Food Web! Dr. Elaine Ingham’s work became a revelation—understanding soil is essential for making choices that lead to thriving ecosystems.

Today, she helps others discover the wonders of soil. Though she’s far from knowing it all (imposter syndrome, anyone?), she’s committed to asking questions, digging deeper, and guiding others with both confidence and humility. For her, regenerative agriculture isn’t only about land; it’s about people, too. She’s dedicated to supporting change with a spirit of respect, curiosity, and, when needed, a bit of humor.
