This intensive in-person workshop provided students with a hands-on pathway through the Soil Food Web practical curriculum. Designed for practitioners seeking to bridge online theory with physical application, the program focused on mastering the mechanics of high-quality biological compost production. Working directly with experienced mentors, participants sourced and mixed feedstocks, built thermophilic compost piles from scratch, monitored moisture and temperature trajectories, and practiced troubleshooting real-time pile challenges. In addition to solid composting, students learned to brew biological liquid amendments and conducted extensive optical microscopy to assess living soil organisms under the lens.
